Our Name
The Golden Divot has it’s origin in both ships and golf. For Sailors finding the Golden Rivet was an excuse to take lady guests on a tour of their ship in search of this special item. The Divot is a well known golfing term indicating the piece of turf that is taken by the golfer when hitting the ball. The Golden Divot name is indicative of the lifestyle of the host at the golden divot of playing and teaching golf in his retirement (golden) years.

Golden Divot Golf Works Ltd’s mission is to provide golfing pleasure for its customers in the form of golf instruction, custom clubfitting, club repair and most of all playing golf at a reasonable price at some of the best golf course on Vancouver Island using the Golden Divot Nanaimo B&B as your home port. To this end we offer specialized golf holidays for couples wishing to getaway for a weekend or a few days during the week to the central Vancouver Island area. Your Hosts
Your hosts at the Golden Divot Bed & Breakfast are Neil & Leslie Sorsdahl. Neil is a retired Naval Officer who was the last Commanding Officer of HMCS Saskatchewan that is now the largest artificial diving reef in the world located in Nanaimo BC Canada . Neil’s last four years in the Navy were in a NATO position in England that required he and Leslie to host guests from all over the world. It was in the UK that Neil qualified as a EGTF Teaching Professional and has worked with the English PGA Pro Ian Godleman for the past 8 years. Leslie is renowned for her fine cuisine and culinary skills and no one ever goes away hungry from the Golden Divot B&B.
